Turn on blocking in Safari

Open Blockbird and tap Safari, then Open Settings.
In Settings, go to Apps → Safari → Extensions.
Tap each Blockbird extension (Ads, Privacy and Annoyances) and turn on Allow Extension.

Back in Blockbird, the Safari row shows “All filters are on”.

Turn on blocking in Chrome and other browsers

In Blockbird, turn on Chrome and other apps.
iOS asks to add a VPN configuration: tap Allow and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.

The VPN runs on your iPhone and only filters DNS lookups; your other traffic goes directly. Read more in the privacy policy.

A site doesn’t load or looks broken

Safari: on that page tap Share → Blockbird and turn off blocking for the site. Reload the page. You can turn it back on the same way, or manage the list in Blockbird under Allowed Sites.
Chrome and other apps: turn off Chrome and other apps in Blockbird for a moment, then turn it on again when you’re done.

Please tell us which site it was, so we can improve the filters.

I still see ads

Check that all three Safari extensions are allowed and that Chrome and other apps is on.
In Chrome, close the tab and open the page again: Chrome may keep earlier answers for a while.
Ads inside apps such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and games come from the same servers as the content and can’t be blocked.

Subscription

Restore purchases: in Blockbird open Settings → Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you used to subscribe.
Cancel: open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Blockbird. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid renewal.
Refunds are handled by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com.

Remove Blockbird

Delete the app from your Home Screen. This removes its Safari extensions, its VPN configuration and all data it stored on your iPhone. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription — cancel it in Settings as described above.
